Fire Alarm Cert Prep is a study and reference resource for people pursuing NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification, Levels I through IV. It is provided for general educational purposes only and is not professional, legal, or engineering advice. Most importantly, this site does not certify anyone: certification comes only from NICET's own application, work-experience review, and exam process, and this site is a supplement to that process, never a replacement for it.

Accuracy and dated facts

We check every level requirement, fee, exam-format, and state-licensing fact against a primary source (the NICET Candidate Handbook, an official NICET program page, or the relevant state fire marshal or licensing board) and stamp each page with the date it was last verified. Rules, fees, and adopted code editions change, and a figure that was correct on its verification date may be updated afterward. Always confirm current requirements with the official source, and with your state or local fire-alarm licensing authority, before you rely on them.

Fire Alarm Cert Prep is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or administered by NICET (the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies), NFPA (the National Fire Protection Association), or any government agency. Names of exams, codes, and bodies appear only for accuracy and never imply a partnership. We reference NFPA 72 by section number and topic for orientation and calculator context, and we never reproduce its copyrighted text, tables, or requirement language at length.

Intellectual property

The text, guides, practice questions, level and state data, explanations, and graphics on this site are original works created by Fire Alarm Cert Prep and Urban Algorithm LLC. Our practice questions are authored from scratch against public exam blueprints and the underlying, non-copyrightable engineering facts (such as Ohm's law and standby-current arithmetic), never scraped or reworded from a competitor's bank. You may read, link to, and share our pages for personal study. You may not copy, scrape, republish, or resell our content without written permission. Illustrations are original or AI-generated artwork; we use no licensed stock photography.
