To be specific about it: no one on this team is presented here as NICET certified, and Fire Alarm Cert Prep is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by NICET or NFPA. What we do is read the primary sources carefully, date what we publish, and say plainly when a figure could not be confirmed. Your own NICET candidate record and your state or local fire alarm licensing authority always govern.
How data is sourced and maintained
Exam fees, experience requirements, exam formats, and recertification figures come from NICET's own published Fire Alarm Systems program pages and policies, cited by name with a verification date next to the figure. State-level licensing facts come from the named state licensing authority for that jurisdiction.
One caveat about NICET specifically: nicet.org runs a bot-blocking firewall that rejects automated requests, so several NICET figures on this site could not be pulled from a rendered nicet.org page directly. Those figures were instead cross-verified across NICET's own published pages as quoted verbatim by search engines, plus the official page of Pearson VUE, the vendor NICET contracts to deliver its exams. Where a figure rests on that indirect route, the row says so instead of implying a direct fetch that did not happen, and it is queued to be re-checked against a rendered NICET page or the current Candidate Handbook.
Every page carries an updated date, and this site's freshness policy
targets a re-verification pass on published facts within
90 days. A page that falls out of that window is
queued for re-verification, not left to go stale.
The statistics page is this site's own original data study: every figure on it is computed at build time from the site's sourced level and recertification data files, never hand-typed.
